Winter Weather Causes Delays and Cancellations

The holidays are fast approaching! While this is a very exciting time of year to relax with family and friends, it can also be a stressful time for travel due to both crowds and winter weather. From snow/ice storms to mechanical issues, many different things can cause delays when traveling by air. Around 19 percent of flights in 2019 were delayed in 2019, and there were almost 120,000 flight cancellations according to the US Department of Transportation.

We anticipate these potential issues and our experienced travel counselors are here to help should you experience a flight delay or cancellation. Please remember that:

1.  Call volume may be higher than normal during this time, so we appreciate your patience by staying on the line or utilizing our "virtual hold" option.

2.  If you need to change your travel, please stay on the line until you can speak with a travel counselor.

3.  If you need to cancel your trip, you can do so via your online booking channel as tools like DTS and E2 Solutions are functional during this time. You can also contact the airline(s) and/or hotel and car vendors directly or forward your flight details to our dedicated cancellation box, CWTSatoCancellations@cwtsato.com.

Please keep in mind that for hotel bookings may will incur penalties if not canceled within the specified cancel policy period. All trips booked via the CWTSatoTravel Hotel Program or FedRooms rates include the protection of a 4:00 p.m. or later cancellation policy (within the US) and a 24 hour or less policy in international locations.

Travel safe this season!
